Here is the original dress that inspired the title 'It's so Pretty'

The original dress dating to 1816-19 was made from cream silk with a satin stripe, the trim at the neckline and hem was white silk net. The pleated shell shapes at the hem line are edged with white satin ribbon. The net at the neckline is threaded through rouleau loops. On the sleeves and between the net decoration of the hem are hand made silk roses (they didn't have them at my local haberdashery but after I made such a big deal about them not being available, suddenly they have them ) The other decoration on the sleeves is white satin ribbon, hand sewn into place.

The fullness of the back of the dress is controlled with tiny hand made cartridge pleats.

This dress has a ridiculous amout of hand sewing to say it's basically machine made. The main seams on the skirt are machine made French seams and the seams on the bodice and bodice lining are machined but all the rest is hand finished.
