Katherine's 18th birthday present from two of her uncles.
She chose this fabric [link] but wanted the more subtle approach so we used the reverse side. Based on Victorian styling but with a more up to date cup shape and higher over the bust to allow it to be worn with nothing undrneath. Two layers of cotton coutil and spiral steel wires, finished with duchess satin binding. Daily DeviationGiven 2009-07-16Katherine's Corset by *Janes-Wardrobe. *Janes-Wardrobe is a professional corsetmaker and also makes period clothing in her studio and home that are in an 1855 stone barn in the French countryside that she and her husband completely renovated with their own hands. This particular corset is in a heavy-weight black and red silk. Fullview is a must to see the lovely fabric and the fine workmanship by this very skilled and multi-talented artisan. The shape took several fittings. The first fitting looked absolutely perfect from every angle except Katherine's so I played around with it until we were both happy.
Luckly she was staying with me for a holiday so we were able to fit at will. It's definately a shape that requires fitting.
